The general consensus from the beat writers at Halas Hall was that neither Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky had a good day quarterbacking for the Chicago Bears. Head coach Matt Nagy said he wants both to take more chances downfield during practice.
Nagy also said that they’ve been getting Alex Bars and Rashaad Coward some reps at offensive tackle with Jason Spriggs day to day with a knee sprain. Nagy also said in regards to the injuries to Akiem Hicks (quad) and Allen Robinson, “Concern level is not high at all.”
The groin injury to kicker Eddy Pineiro isn’t expected to be serious either.
Rookie corner Jaylon Johnson may have had his best practice so far.
Nickelback Buster Skrine continues to get some practice reps at outside corner.

Running back Tarik Cohen believes that with the revamped tight ends on the roster he’ll get matched up with linebackers in coverage more. He said last year he was covered by defensive backs quite a bit.
Cohen also is well aware that he’s in the final year of his rookie contract. “Going into a contract year, I already know that it’s only one thing that matters and it’s how I play on the field this season,” he said today after practice. “It’s on me to perform well this year, so I’m taking all things considered, I’ve got to ball out this year.”
