Things are changing at Windy City Gridiron

Yes, we all understand.

Change is sometimes frustrating.

By now many of you guys are aware that SB Nation has started rolling out a new commenting system for all their sites called Coral. The initial reaction wasn’t as positive as initially hoped, but please keep in mind that the Coral system we have now isn’t a final version. The team behind our new commenting platform is hard at work to ensure our members that the WCG experience will remain the best one out there for us Chicago Bears’ fans.

EDIT: SB Nation has already addressed some of the issues and will be addressing others. Read about those here.

Windy City Gridiron will go live with Coral on Monday, August 10, around 2:00 PM Central.

Andrew Losowsky, who is the head of Coral, answered some questions in this FAQs post over at SB Nation, and I highly recommend you check it out. He goes over all the nuts and bolts of the new system, explaining the “why” behind much of it, and he goes over some things that are still being worked through.

Two important things to keep in mind about the change.

  1. This is a work in progress with no set deadline for a final Coral product, and your feedback is important and will be heard. The WCG team are Bears fans and content creators, not website developers, so if you have a question or a suggestion then you can contact the team that works on this system here: support@coralproject.net.
  2. In case there are any issues with your WCG account after the change, make sure to contact us here and we’ll do our best to get you back up as soon as possible.

Again, please Bear with us, and keep in mind that in time we hope the positives will far outweigh the negatives and your WCG experience will be as fun as ever.

We appreciate all our members, and I truly feel our community is what sets us apart from the other Bears’ sites out there, but this change will take some getting used to.

For all of us.

Bear down my friends...
