With their opening game a mere four days away, the Chicago Bears revealed their first injury report of the 2020 season and it was a bit larger than hoped.
Outside linebacker Robert Quinn was a no-go at today’s practice with an ankle injury, but at least the other injured Bears practiced on a limited basis.
Those were fellow outside linebacker Khalil Mack (knee), running back David Montgomery (groin), wide receiver/running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee), offensive lineman Jason Spriggs (knee), and wide out Javon Wims (Achilles).
Montgomery practicing was a mild surprise, because when he first went down it was expected he’d be out a few weeks, so his injury either wasn’t as bad as originally feared, or he’s a quick healer. With Patterson also limited that left only three running backs healthy; Tarik Cohen and Ryan Nall, plus practice squader Artavis Pierce, whom the Bears listed as one of their 4 protected practice squad players this week.
Starting right guard Germain Ifedi was also on the injury list, but he was a full participant with a triceps injury.
Here’s the Wednesday injury list for the Detroit Lions;
