The Chicago Bears just put the finishing touches on a .500 campaign. Again.
With a roster built through the defense and borrowing from the future puts the Bears in a tough spot. Robert Mays, host of the Athletic Football Show, joins the show to talk about the “Treadmill of Mediocrity” and what the Bears must do to get off of it. Mays believes that one of the biggest issues plaguing the Bears is that the mediocrity issue permeates all the way up to the ownership level.
The show digs into issues like how Ryan Pace has built this team, Matt Nagy’s potential as a “CEO” Head Coach, options at quarterback, and a deep dive into the offensive line.
After the break, Jeff and EJ lay out what needs to happen for the Bears to pull off the upset against the Saints in New Orleans this Sunday.
Make sure to check out Robert’s podcast, The Athletic Football Show, and his work on the Athletic. It’s smart football talk.
