The Chicago Bears have updated their injury report for tomorrow’s wild card playoff game with the New Orleans Saints by downgrading inside linebacker Roquan Smith and wide receiver Darnell Mooney from questionable to out.
The Bears have also activated defensive back Marqui Christian and inside linebacker Manti Te’o from their practice squad.
Smith and Mooney will now join nickelback Buster Skrine on the sideline for Sunday’s game. Cornerback Jaylon Johnson (shoulder) and linebacker Josh Woods (toe/glute) are still listed as questionable.
Duke Shelley will likely be the primary nickelback against the Saints with Skrine out, and if Woods can play he’ll probably get the start for Roquan. Joel Iyiegbuniwe is an option if Woods is too injured, but since he’s primarily been a special teamer, don’t be surprised if Te’o gets some run.
The Saints injury report still only lists reserve offensive lineman Nick Easton and starting defensive end Trey Hendrickson as out.
Also, the Saints have activated running back Alvin Kamara from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and wide out Michael Thomas from injured reserve.
