With Quarterback Andy Dalton still nursing a bone bruise injury in his knee, the Chicago Bears are not yet ready to make a decision at starting quarterback for Sunday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions. That decision will be officially announced at game time on Sunday.

The injury report released Friday reveals that the starter Dalton was a limited participant in practice for a third day in a row, while rookie Justin Fields was a full participant all week. Fields does not carry an injury designation for Sunday’s game, while Dalton is listed as Questionable.

Third-string quarterback Nick Foles will officially not be the starter, head coach Matt Nagy confirmed to the media Friday.

Coach Nagy said that Dalton “is getting better” in regards to his injury and that he remains the starter on the depth chart, with Fields still the backup.

The Bears will host the 0-3 Detroit Lions on Sunday at Soldier Field in a 12:00 CST matchup to help establish last place in the division, with the 1-2 Vikings hosting the Cleveland Browns at the same time, and the 2-1 Packers getting the Steelers in Green Bay at 3:25.
