WCG Sunday Livestream: Week 6, Bears Vs Packers

It’s Bears/Packers Week, for first place in the division

NFL: Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, y’all. The stakes are a little higher today than they were two weeks ago.

Two weeks ago, the Bears were just coming off one of the most offensive (and, well, least offensive) games we’ve seen in the last several years, falling to 1-2 and little hope in sight.

Then, the Bears pulled the trigger and, after beating the Lions while Andy Dalton was still recovering from a knee injury, named Justin Fields their starting quarterback going forward. Since Fields unofficially took over the starting role in week 3, the Bears have won their last two games against the Lions and the Raiders, and find themselves within one win over the Packers of claiming a share of first place in the division.

Fields has shown flashes of being the quarterback Bears fans hope he is, and the Bears’ offense has shown life behind a new rushing attack that overwhelmed the Raiders’ defense early last week and controlled the game against the Lions.

The Packers, of course, are still exactly who they are despite opening the season with a three point loss - the Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams and Randall Cobb show, featuring Aaron Jones, with special guest appearances once in a while by the Green Bay defense. Of course, that’s still been enough to control the division. An all-time great quarterback tends to help that.

But as Rage Against the Machine said back in 1999,

It has to start somewhere,
It has to start some time.
What better place than here?
What better time than now?

All hell can’t stop the Navy and Orange now. Bear Down, my friends.

We’ll need to verify this, but to the WCG Sunday Livestream’s recollection, every Bears win has involved the stream having an off week in some fashion. No, we aren’t taking one for the team and shutting down for the season. But if there’s a week to return for, we’ve got a good one.

Of course, there are the usual assortment of ways to get a hold of us:

As per usual, we’ll go live around 9:30 AM CT and talk with you for a couple hours. See you then!
