The Chicago Bears have signed wide out/special teamer Nsimba Webster to their practice squad, and in a corresponding move they have released offensive lineman Alex Taylor from the practice squad.
Webster was just released from their active roster on Tuesday to make room for the newly acquired Jakeem Grant, who will assume the kick and punt return duties. Webster had 4 punt returns on the year for 13 yards and a fumble, but he was also a gunner on the kick and punt teams where he picked up 4 tackles. Through the Bears first 4 games Webster had appeared in 46% of their special teams snaps, so I would not be surprised to see Webster elevated on game day to cover kicks and punts.
Taylor was picked up by the Bears a few weeks ago as they were working through some injuries to the offensive line.
This is the second practice squad shuffle the Bears have made this week.
