According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears have Bears released wide receiver Breshad Perriman.
Update: The Bears have officially announced the move.
The Bears originally signed him on September 6th, a week before the 2021 season started, and he was a low risk (i.e. league minimum) wide out with some speed (4.35 forty) and experience (28-years old, 68 career games) to see if he could revitalize his career. He didn’t appear in any games for the Bears this season, so he apparently did not.
Perriman is the second wide out the Bears have parted ways with this week, joining Jon’Vea Johnson who was waived from their practice squad on Thursday.
For now the Bears still have 5 receivers on their 53-man roster and 4 more on the practice squad.
With the Bears next playing tomorrow night I would expect them announce a roster move or two today (A David Montgomery activation?), and if they do we’ll have it right here at Windy City Gridiron.
