According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears are re-signing offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to a one-year contract worth $5 million, with a base salary of $4.25 million.
Last year Ifedi played in all 16 games for the Bears after signing a one-year deal for about $1 million. He played both right guard and right tackle in 2020, and he definitely played well enough to earn a second season in Chicago.
With the Bears releasing starting right tackle Bobby Massie there’s a hole at that position that Ifedi is the most qualified to fill, but there’s still plenty of time for the Bears to find more competition in free agency or the NFL Draft.
