Brent Urban to sign with the Dallas Cowboys

The Chicago Bears are losing a key depth piece from their defensive line as six year pro, and air-guitar rocker, Brent Urban is signing a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. His wife Kate was the first to report.

Urban played two and a half years with the Bears, and in 2020 he set career highs with 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He played in all 16 games last year with 9 starts while being on the field for 35% of Chicago’s defensive snaps and 35% of their special teams snaps.

The Bears recently signed defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, which will help offset the loss of Urban, but considering the Bears have also lost Roy Robertson-Harris to the Jaguars, and that Akiem Hicks is rumored to be on the trade block, the position could use some more fortifying.

The Bears are expected to get nose tackle Eddie Goldman back after he opted out of last year due to the pandemic.

What are your thoughts on the Bears d-line after this latest move?
