Good morning Windy City Gridiron readers!
Our full 7-round mock draft for the Chicago Bears has begun!
Keep scrolling down for the polls, each of which will stay open for about 30 minutes. Some browsers and mobile devices block the polls so if you don’t see it then maybe try to sway our readers with your thoughts in the comment section.
For a recap on what you guys did in 2020, you can find last year’s reader mock right here.
Fingers crossed that there’s not a Pro Football Network glitch or an internet outage during the festivities...
Here’s how our 2021 WCG Chicago Bears Live Mock Draft will work.
The first poll will open on Saturday, April 17 around 11:00 a.m. CT where you, the Windy City Gridiron members, will go on the clock for the Bears.
We’ll simulate the draft on Pro Football Network, and the reason I picked that site is familiarity and the ability to make trades.
I’ll start the sim and when it gets to the Bears pick I’ll post a poll in here with several player options for you to choose from. Each poll will remain open for about 30 minutes and the winner of the poll is the pick. In the event of a tie I’ll make the final call. I’ll include around 10 player options on each poll, and I’ll stick as close to the board as possible for those choices. If there’s an obvious scheme mismatch or too many similar players/positions on the board I may move down to get us more options to choose from.
Each Bears spot in the mock draft will feature a new poll with the above criteria used for the pick. Every 30(ish) minutes you’ll get to vote so you may want to get some snacks and a tasty beverage. This is gonna take a while.
Trading down will be an option in each poll, and if trade down is the selection I’ll look to move down and get the best deal possible within a few minutes. If I can’t swing a deal in a few minutes we’ll just stay at the spot and I’ll pick the player that came in second.
There will be no trading up in the simulation because I don’t want to deal with a poll targeting specific trade up options. I get that there’s a lot of buzz about the Bears possibly trading up for a quarterback, but I honestly can’t see that happening, especially with the other QB needy teams all picking ahead of the Bears and thus having better picks to send in a trade.
Fingers crossed that there’s not a Pro Football Network glitch or crash during the festivities...
BEFORE YOU VOTE BE SURE TO LOOK OVER ALL THE OPTIONS AND THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE TRADE DOWN PARAMETERS
