With the 11th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, and after a blockbuster trade with the New York Giants, the Chicago Bears have selected Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

The Giants traded pick 11 to the Bears, and in return they’ll receive the Bears first-round (20th overall) and fifth-round (164th) this season, and a 2022 first and fourth-rounder.

For the last two years Fields was considered one of the best quarterbacks in college football, and he racked up several accolades during that time. He won the Big Ten’s Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year award and the Griese–Brees Quarterback of the Year award in both 2019 and 2020.

He helped the Ohio State Buckeyes to consecutive Big Ten titles and consecutive College Football Playoff appearances.

In 22 games in his two years he racked up 5,373 yards passing, with a 68.4 completion percentage, 63 passing touchdowns, to only 9 interceptions. He added 867 yards rushing with 15 TD coming on the ground.

He’ll bring a supreme level of arm talent, plenty of experience, incredible athleticism, and a high football IQ.

There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft, but this pick feels special.
