NFL Draft Results 2021: Chicago Bears take Dazz Newsome in the 6th round

NCAA Football: Western Carolina at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears have selected North Carolina wide out Dazz Newsome with the 37th pick in the 6th round.

His pro day numbers were not impressive at all, which could be why he fell to this point in the draft, but Newsome (5’8”, 201 lbs) was a productive player for the Tar Heels with 188 receptions, 2,435 yards, and 18 touchdowns during his 4 years there. He also had an 11.1 punt return average on 48 returns with a TD.

Newsome projects to the slot with the Bears, but he’ll likely need to show something on special teams during the offseason to make the 2021 roster.
