The Bears were widely praised for their haul in the 2021 NFL Draft, but they didn’t stop adding talent there, adding Virginia linebacker Charles Snowden as an undrafted free agent.
An incredibly lengthy prospect at 6-foot-6 and 243 pounds, Snowden is a physical specimen who blends top-notch athletic ability with insane length to create a massive tackle radius. He has experience as both an edge rusher and an off-ball linebacker, and his ability to be moved around gives him additional upside at the NFL level.
Though he suffered a season-ending injury in November of 2020 that saw him unable to play in the Senior Bowl, the physical upside with a player like Snowden is palpable. There’s no guarantee he makes the team’s active roster being an undrafted free agent, but he projects as the Bears’ best undrafted free agent signing this year.
I displayed what about Snowden makes him an undrafted free agent worth remembering for Bears fans.

Snowden’s athleticism off the snap stands out on film. He’s quick off the snap and has great closing speed as a tackler and when rushing the passer in space. #Bears pic.twitter.com/UNhCxx2Atq

Snowden is 6-foot-6 and 243 pounds with 34-inch arms, and that length is super helpful for him.

He does a great job of locking blockers out of his frame and can work off of blocks to make plays in run support. #Bears pic.twitter.com/aifgq3C3sL
Snowden has shown some promise in regards to his ability to convert speed to power and push the pocket as a pass rusher.

His athleticism and length gives him a high physical ceiling in the pros. #Bears pic.twitter.com/Uw8J7z5v2z
Snowden is incredibly athletic in space for his size, giving him an extensive tackle radius.

He plays hard in run support and is fluid in space, and his length and athleticism also makes him a valuable defender in coverage. #Bears pic.twitter.com/hEmhAGuUZ9
Charles Snowden likely got undrafted because of a season-ending ankle injury, but he’s an early Day 3 talent as an UDFA.

The #Bears got an athletic, lengthy and versatile defender with a high physical upside.
