Some can argue that July 27th was the start of Chicago Bears training camp with all the Bears players officially reporting, but today was the first practice at Halas Hall (although practice #1 was quite the short one).
#Bears first practice of Training Camp is in the books. A quick one, not even 90 minutes.

The headline of day 1 was injuries. Germain Ifedi, Teven Jenkins, and Eddie Jackson all did not practice due to injuries, with both Ifedi (hip flexor) and Jackson (hamstring) being placed on the PUP list. Another piece of news that came out was that Robert Quinn’s injury is the same one that kept him from participating in team minicamp back in June.
#Bears placed FS Eddie Jackson (hamstring) on the non-football injury list. RT Germain Ifedi (hip flexor) is on the physically unable to perform list.

Some breaking news out of Bears camp was that newly signed tight end Jake Butt has retired from the NFL on his first day of training camp. Butt was drafted in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Finally, with day 1 in the books, some players and coaches took the podium to answer questions from the media. Khalil Mack gave a quote that should have Bears fans excited for the 2021 season.
Khalil Mack was asked what he and Robert Quinn need to do better in 2021: "“Get to the damn quarterback. That’s what we got paid to do -- affect the game by getting to the quarterback and creating turnovers and short fields for the offense."
