Bears safety Eddie Jackson activated off the NFI list

He’s back!

NFL: Chicago Bears Training Camp Jon Durr-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday morning the Chicago Bears activated safety Eddie Jackson from the non-football injury list. The 27-year old was put on the list before training camp after injuring his hamstring working out on his own away from Halas Hall. The former All-Pro being back will help out a secondary that has had a few players injured in the last week of camp.

Head coach Matt Nagy also announced this morning that there is no change in the status of rookie offensive tackle Teven Jenkins and he will remain sidelined with back tightness.

Nagy also said this morning that the plan for their preseason opener on Saturday is for the starters to only play a series or two, or about 8-10 plays, which means we’ll get plenty of Justin Fields leading the second string offense. With the Miami Dolphins at Halas Hall this week I would expect Fields to get plenty of valuable, yet controlled reps, while facing the ‘Fins defense.
