Breaking down Justin Fields’ 3 best reads vs Buffalo Bills

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Chicago Bears Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

There’s a lot that goes into playing quarterback in the NFL, but no skill is more important than being able to read the field.

With that in mind, I wanted to highlight 3 plays I saw in Justin Fields’ game vs the Buffalo Bills that showed how well he’s doing just that — between sharp pre-snap reads, tense post-snap adjustments, and quick play-action progressions, Fields has demonstrated the ability to do a little bit of everything and that made these plays well worth highlighting.

Check out the video below and let me know what you think!

While the level-of-play Fields is accustomed to is likely a bit slower than he’ll see on Sundays (due to playing against the 2nd/3rd/4th teamers), Fields seems to have established a solid foundation on which he can build so far in camp.

He’s got plenty of room to grow (it is the NFL after all, reading the field at this level takes time), but just seeing his playmaking ability on play-action throws and throws like the Cover-2 hole-shot get me excited for what he may do in Navy and Orange this year.

But we’ll have to stay patient for regular-season action. For now, onwards to Tennessee!
