Ryan Nall, Riley Ridley, Thomas Graham Jr., and Dazz Newsome among recent Bears cuts

NFL: Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The beat writers for the Chicago Bears have been reporting on waived players for the last couple days now — keep up to date in our tracker here — but today there have been a few “bigger” name players released.

Running back Ryan Nall, wide receiver Riley Ridley, wide out Dazz Newsome, and cornerback Thomas Graham Jr. have all been released.

It’s possible the Bears look to bring these guys back on the practice squad if they clear waivers, and we’ll find out about that tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. CT.

Nall, a former UDFA, has carved out a gig as a core special teamer the last couple years, but with the Bears signing Damien Williams and drafting Khalil Herbert, he had a tougher time sticking around.

Ridley, a former fourth round draft pick, was never able to get on the field and develop into the player the Bears envisioned.

Graham, a sixth round pick this year, opted out of the 2020 season, so perhaps he’ll just need some more time on the practice squad to get himself back resembling the prospect he was at Oregon in 2019.

Newsome, another sixth rounder this year, got caught behind the depth chart while rehabbing his collar bone. If he clears waivers he’s a shoe-in to return.

What are your thoughts on these three being shown the door? And remember...
