Who’s Ready to Draft Some Superstars This Weekend?

After an exciting preseason of action with new quarterback Justin Fields centerstage, the Chicago Bears are set to begin their 102nd season in the National Football League. The 53-man roster is set, with a few surprises such as Desmond Trufant, Riley Ridley, and James Vaughters not quite making the cut.

With the NFL Kickoff next Thursday featuring a matchup between the defending-champion Tampa Bay Bucaneers against the probably-improving-once-Dak-is-healthy (seriously why are they even here?) Dallas Cowboys, this weekend will be riddled with fantasy football drafts with your friends, family, and coworkers.

As Windy City Gridiron’s fantasy football writer for the 2021 season, I challenge you! This past weekend, we invited you to the Windy City Gridiron Fantasy Football League through Yahoo Fantasy Sports, and it filled up in a hurry! With Yahoo capping the spots at 20, we had to split the league into a WCG Navy League and WCG Orange League.

FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

If you haven’t yet accepted the challenge of proving your fantasy football dominance with fellow Bears fans, then you can sign up for the Orange league here. If fantasy football isn’t quite your bag, then don’t fret, because we still want to play games with you! We have two additional options for those who are looking for a fun experience with very little time commitment required.

PICK EMS LEAGUE

For a very relaxed game with extremely low time commitment (as little as 5 minutes per week) then consider a weekly pick ems league. Pick Em’s gives you a full list of the NFL games that week, and you predict the winner of each matchup and submit your picks. After each week, you can see how well you did and compare with other players in the league.

SURVIVOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Similar to Pick Ems, Survivor Football is picking a winner in an NFL matchup each week. The difference is that you are locking in one matchup rather than every game. Lock in the matchup you’re most confident will go the way you predict, like whoever is playing the Lions, and if the game goes the way you predicted then you’re in the clear.

If you’re wrong, though, then you get a strike. Three strikes and you’re out.
