WCG Sunday Livestream: Week 3 - Bears Vs Browns

The Justin Fields era begins today.

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears Jon Durr-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning. It’s Justin Fields Day.

Alternately: Did anything happen in the last week while I was out?

While the Justin Fields era officially began with about two minutes to go in the first half last week against Cincinnati amidst a defensive onslaught that just kept the game out of reach for the Bengals, it begins in earnest today as Fields gets the start over a hobbled Andy Dalton.

Sure, over two games the offense hasn’t been much to write home about, but last week the Dalton-led first drive ended in a touchdown to Allen Robinson, and while the Fields-led offense had some hiccups in timing, protection and standard-issue rookie miscues, the ceiling should only be better from here.

Fields’ first start? Oh, just against Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney, and a Browns defense that has 3 sacks and 10 QB hits (per PFR) this season.

The defense’s assignment? Oh, just Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt paired with Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.

There’s a reason the Browns started the year as a conversation piece in the AFC title picture with the Bills and the Chiefs. That being said, wouldn’t it be nice for the Navy and Orange to start the Justin Fields Era with a solid win against a good team?

Let’s get after it. Bear Down, my friends.
