The (1-5) Chicago Bears square off with the (3-3) Las Vegas Raiders, and we’re either getting a battle of the rookie backup quarterbacks or a rookie vs. a fifteen-year vet.
Chicago’s Tyson Bagent is an undrafted free agent rookie making his first-ever start, and Las Vegas’ Aidan O’Connell is a fourth-rounder who played his high school ball at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
The Raiders also have Brian Hoyer in their quarterback room, and he’s the oldest active QB in the league at 38. To put it another way, 23-year-old Bagent was nine years old when Hoyer made his NFL debut.
Bagent was 16 when Hoyer was putting up this fantastic four-game stretch for the Bears in 2016.
How does this look for a 4-game stretch from a #Bears starting QB?
— Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. (@wiltfongjr) October 18, 2023
A 68.4 completion percentage for 1,318 passing yards, with 6 TDs, 0 Ints, and a 101.4 passer rating.
Any idea who it was?
If Ryan Pace had stuck with Hoyer as the bridge QB for the 2017 season, let the draft come to him instead of trading up from three to two for Mitch Trubisky, who knows what could have happened with this franchise.
Who am I kidding? We know how it would have turned out. The Bears would have Bear’ed something up.
Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for the Bears vs. Raiders game!
