Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Chicago Bears fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Bears started the 2023 season with three consecutive losses that were littered with mistakes on both sides of the ball. The offense couldn’t find its footing, the defense couldn’t get a stop, and coaching decisions left us scratching our heads.
In week four, the offense went for a season-high 471 yards and four touchdowns, while the defense started to show some signs of life. A late turnover blew any chance they had of getting their first win, though.
In week five, they did come out on top with 40 points on offense, five sacks and two takeaways on defense, and our confidence in the franchise shot up.
But then week six happened. The loss to the Vikings featured an atrocious offense and an injury to Justin Fields. The inept O was the headline, but the defense only allowed 220 yards and 12 points.
Then, on Sunday, the defense continued their nice string of performances, backup QB Tyson Bagent played efficient, mistake-free football, and they bullied their way to their second win of the season.
Have the Bears turned a corner? Do you think they’ve figured some things out? Are you confident in the franchise’s direction?
As a bonus question this week, we want to know if you think the Bears should extend cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
Bears CB Jaylon Johnson now has the highest coverage grade at the position thru Week 7 (min. 100 snaps) with an 88.1 mark

- 43.5% completion rate allowed is 4th
- 0.66 yards per coverage snap is t-8th
Shouldn't be a trade candidate, start thinking extension
Jaylon Johnson: 22.2 passer rating allowed this season
