Best Bets: Props!

When betting the spread isn’t nearly enough

Prop bets have continued to be a consistent source of positivity in the betting journey this year. I’m not about to try to fix something that’s not broken either so let’s keep highlighting players with attractive match ups and let’s keep smashing the over.

Running Backs. I’m betting old friend David Montgomery has himself a game against the Bears. That extra motivation for him and the coaching staff will likely lead to extra touches. The Bears defense has been good against the run, but they have not played an offensive line as good as Detroit’s this year. I think Detroit pounds the rock and let’s Montgomery get a lot of touches in a positive game script. I also like Austin Ekeler at Packers, Raheem Mostert vs Raiders, Devin Singletary vs Cardinals, and Tony Pollard at Panthers.

Wide Receivers. The 49ers have a great match against the Bucs secondary. The play here is Brandon Aiyuk. A steady target share in this offense with the chance of an explosive play at any point, he’s our safest bet at the over. As much as I love Deebo, I don’t think you can trust him right now as he’s working his way back from injury. If you do want to go with Deebo, I’d lean on the rushing plus receiving yardage total instead of purely receiving yards. I also like Christian Kirk vs Titans, Terry McLaurin vs Giants, and DJ Moore at Lions.

Tight Ends. We whiffed on our TE bets last week but only because I couldn’t find the anytime TD bet for Kincaid (and he came dang close on the yardage prop). This week, I’m really liking Tre McBride. He’s emerged as a legit weapon for the Cardinals and with Kyler Murray’s return, I like the chances of a shootout in Houston. I also like TJ Hockenson at Broncos and George Kittle vs Bucs.
