It’s Thanksgiving, which means some combination of family, food, and football for many of us. My advice for family is to walk away before an argument starts. My advice for food is to workout in the morning, avoid the snack items as much as possible, and leave room for the extra slice of pie. My advice for football is below:
The Detroit Lions kick off the best holiday of the year hosting the Green Bay Packers and SURPRISE, the Lions are more than a touchdown favorite. The Lions have been good at beating up on lesser squads this year and after surviving Chicago’s upset efforts on Sunday, I think they bounce back with a comfortable with against the Packers.
The afternoon game features the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys are quietly one of the best teams in the league. Their +127 point differential is tied with Baltimore for best in the league and Dallas has played one fewer game. With a chance to beat up on their divisional opponent this week, they should be able to take the lead in that particular statistic. It’s a huge line but again, you lead the league in point differential by knocking out the bad teams. The Cowboys have only won one game by fewer than 20 (20-17 at Chargers). Don’t be afraid of the line.
The night game should be the closest of the three contests, although the San Francisco 49ers have seemingly righted the ship after their Week 9 bye week, winning their last two comfortably. The Seattle Seahawks meanwhile were destroyed in Baltimore, barely escaped a home contest with the Commanders, and lost a tough one against the Rams. This certainly appears to be two teams headed in opposite directions and on a short week, I’ll take the stronger squad on paper.
Good luck to all and may your plates and betting slips be full of winners.
