Good morning, Bears fans. Welcome to week 15.
It’s also known as that time of year where the Chicago Bears find themselves in a... unique position. The Minnesota Vikings’ loss yesterday cracks open the door to the playoffs just ever-so-more slightly. It’s a slight chance, but there’s a chance nonetheless of this team -starting as rough as it did and dropping two “should never have dropped” games - of this team going to the playoffs, or that they could/should be in a much better position.
The Bears also find themselves currently in possession of two of the top-five picks in the draft, including the #1 overall pick by way of the Carolina Panthers. Which really speaks more to how wide open playoff scenarios are at this time of year, anyway.
The Bears get a chance to bump their winning streak up to 3 games with a win over the hindered Cleveland Browns today. The Browns’ defense should be a good matchup to see just how far the Bears offense has come and can continue to grow. Meanwhile, a defense that stepped up big against the Minnesota Vikings and the Lions has another chance to assert itself against an offense missing two starting offensive tackles and a starting quarterback.
The playoffs are in reach for the Navy and Orange, until they’re not. Bear Down, my friends.
Today’s WCG Sunday Livestream has spent so much time on analyzing the coach and quarterback options and looking towards the future of this franchise that switching gears to talk about back-to-back wins and the possibilities of hints of playoff chances is going to feel weird, but here we are.
