‘Tis the season for spreading joy and endless blessings to all who love thy beloved Chicago Bears. And, in the case of Kicker Cairo Santos, his Christmas holiday became that more sweeter.

Per multiple reports the Chicago Bears have signed Kicker Cairo Santos to a 4-year extension worth up to $16M. This includes $9.5M in guarantees upon signing. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune was the first to break the news.

The extension also places him at 13th highest in a per-year value behind Philadelphia Eagles Kicker Jake Elliot. In all, Cairo Santos is the most accurate Kicker in Chicago Bears franchise history, and he’s having a career best season. He’s currently 27 out of 29 for FG attempts and 24 out of 26 for XPA. It’s worth noting both those extra point attempts were blocked instead of being actual misses on Cairo’s part.

This takes care of the only major contract extension projected for the Chicago Bears that is not named Jaylon Johnson. Happy Holidays, and an early Merry Christmas to all here on Windy City Gridiron!
