With the way these Chicago Bears have handed games back to the opposition this season, I feel them holding on to a 21-point lead is a bigger deal than it should be.

But that's where I'm at as a fan.

The Bears scored three unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter and a half against the Cardinals, but Arizona started to chip away, and I assumed; here we go again. They cut it to eight points, and I just knew there'd be a fourth historical meltdown.

But the Bears somehow survived and won. This is what teams should do when leading by two scores in the fourth quarter.

When the Bears do what they should do, it surprises me.

Which is why I'm also expecting the Bears to screw up their offseason decisions about the coaching staff and quarterback.

I'm so used to the Bears making the wrong decisions that I assume whatever they decide to do, history will tell us they should have gone in the other direction.

Two games to go in Chicago's season, plus a week 16 game to dissect on today's show.

Check out Jeff Berckes and Lester Wiltfong on a new Bear & Balanced here, or come hang out with us live on 2nd City Gridiron at 6:00 p.m. (CT).

Here's our usual bullet point outline of Bear & Balanced.

  • The Fields Report: We talk about quarterback Justin Fields before we take our commercial break.
  • The 3 Bears: You all know the story of the Three Bears, so in this porridge-themed portion of the show, we give our picks for the Bear that was hot, the Bear that was cold, and the Bear that was just right in the game against the Cardinals.

After we wrap up the podcast portion of the show, we'll stick around to answer any questions you guys may have from the YouTube comment section in some video-exclusive content.
