After his 112 rushing yards on 20 attempts (5.6 yards per carry) and rushing touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals, the Chicago Bears’ Khalil Herbert was named the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week. He beat out Green Bay’s Aaron Jones (127 yards) and the Rams’ Kyren Williams (104 yards, 1 TD) for the award.

Herbert is the second Bear to win this season, joining D’Onta Foreman, who won in week seven against the Raiders after running for 89 yards on 16 rushes (5.6 ypc) with 2 TDs.

This is Herbert’s second time winning the award, with his first FedEx win coming in week three of last season against the Texans when he had 20 carries for 157 yards (7.9 ypc) and 2 TDs.

By winning the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in Herbert’s name to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), which will be applied towards needs-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students.

For those curious, the Cleveland Browns’ Joe Flacco was named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award winner as he completed 27 of 42 attempts (64.3 percent) for 368 yards and three touchdowns for a 96.1 passer rating in their win against the Texans.
