Thanks to the Carolina Panthers losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 26 to 0, and the Arizona Cardinals upsetting the Philadelphia Eagles, 35 to 31, the Panthers have secured the worst record in the league.

And the Chicago Bears are on the clock...

The Bears hold Carolina's 2024 first-round pick after trading their 2023 first-rounder (first overall) for the Panthers' first-rounder in 2023 (ninth overall), a second-round selection in 2023, a first-round pick in 2024, a second-round pick in 2025, and wide receiver DJ Moore.

In the 2023 draft, the Bears moved back one spot from nine in a trade with the Eagles for a 2024 fourth-rounder, and they selected right tackle Darnell Wright. The Bears used Carolina's 2023 second-rounder in a trade for corner Tyrique Stevenson.

General Manager Ryan Poles has a huge decision to make this offseason as he could "re-set the quarterback clock" by drafting the top QB on his board, or trade the first overall pick for a haul that would presumably be bigger than what they got from Carolina.

With the Bears at (7-9), they are currently slotted in as the tenth overall pick in the 2024 draft. Chicago travels to play the Packers in the week 18 finale.
