This week, we have a couple of questions for our fans. First up, we have our standard confidence poll, and it'll be interesting to see what the bye week did to our fan base.
When we last saw our Chicago Bears on the field, they were eking out a last-second 12 to 10 win in Minnesota on Monday Night Football. It was an ugly game, but it was also Chicago's fourth win in their last eight contests, it was Coach Matt Eberflus' first-ever divisional win, and several of GM Ryan Poles' players showed out.
But with no Bears game over the weekend, there was plenty of time for you guys to think about the direction of this franchise.
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, who has had the pulse of the Bears beat for decades, told our Bill Zimmerman that he believes Poles has a "strong working relationship" with Team President Kevin Warren and that Poles is a good bet to return for a third year.
So, does Poles likely to return make you feel better about the franchise's direction?
The media has been all over the place on Eberflus, however. Will a strong finish could save him? Did the awful start, coupled with historic losses, seal his fate?
If he stays, the Bears should run it back with Justin Fields, but a new head coach would probably want his own guy to build around.
And speaking of building, has left tackle Braxton Jones shown enough to be considered a building block for the future?
He was solid as a rookie, and I've liked what I've seen out of him this year. He was flagged six times in the first two weeks, then a neck injury sidelined him for the next six games, but he's played well since returning.
Things could change over these last five games, but right now, I'd be fine if the Bears passed on a left tackle early in the draft. I see no point in replacing a guy who is still ascending as a player.
Vote in this week's questions, and we'll share the results in a few days.
