Think about how the narrative would have changed had the Chicago Bears hung on to beat the Detroit Lions a few weeks ago. That historic meltdown, coupled with the franchise-worst 21-point lead they blew against the Broncos early this year, presents a heck of a "what if" for this team.
At (4-8), the Bears are barely hanging on to their postseason hopes, and questions surrounding the futures of head coach Matt Eberflus and quarterback Justin Fields have been the talk of Chicago for weeks. But "if" those two games had gone differently, the Bears would be squarely in the NFC hunt, and Eberflus and Fields both would be looking like locks for 2024.
The Lions have been atop the NFC North all season, and at (9-3), they're just a couple of wins away from punching their playoff ticket.
