The Chicago Bears took a calculated approach to the early negotiating period of free agency, and while it didn’t go as anyone predicted, they had a solid day one addressing needs with young players that are still ascending in their NFL careers.

There is still plenty of work to do — after all, free agency hasn't started yet — but let's recap what transpired while looking forward to what’s to come.
