Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus continue to work on finding the team’s next offensive coordinator.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that you can add the name Klint Kubiak to the Bears list of offensive coordinator candidates. The other name previously reported was Seattle’s Shane Waldron.

Kubiak is young, he is still just 36 years old and he’s spent the last season as the San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator. Prior to that, he was the passing game coordinator and offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos in 2022 and he was elevated under Mike Zimmer as the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator in 2021. Both times he was fired as an offensive coordinator it was because his head coach lost his job at the end of the season.

Kubiak is part of that group of coaches that utilize the Shanahan-style offense.

Kubiak is also the son of former NFL head coach Gary Kubiak, who won a Super Bowl for the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
